BMO Capital Markets has hired Tim Long as a senior equity analyst to the firm’s technology team, the investment and corporate banking arm of BMO Financial Group said Tuesday.

Based in New York, Long will cover companies in the wireless equipment and data networking industries.

“Technology is a key area for the differentiated research we provide our clients,” says Jack Blackstock, co-head of equity research, BMO Capital Markets. “Tim’s experience and excellent reputation as a leading analyst will complement the highly focused approach we pursue in technology research.”

Long joins BMO Capital Markets from Banc of America Securities, where he was a senior research analyst covering wireless equipment and data networking/ wireline equipment. He has more than 12 years of experience as an equity research analyst and has been consistently highly ranked in analyst surveys, including Institutional Investor’s annual list, BMO Capital Markets says.

Long began his professional career as an engineer for Bell Communications Research and Raytheon. He earned his Electrical Engineering Bachelor of Science degree from Manhattan College and his MBA degree from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
