The Ontario Securities Commission has published the memorandum of understanding that it has signed with the Ontario Minister of Finance. The Securities Act requires the commission and the Minister of Finance to enter into an MOU every five years.

The MOU sets out: the respective roles and responsibilities of the Minister and the chair; the accountability relationship between the commission and the Minister; the responsibility of the commission to provide to the Minister business plans, operational budgets and plans for proposed significant changes in the operations or activities of the commission.

The MOU between the commission and the Minister dated May 26, is effective immediately.
