RBC Asset Management Inc. today launched RBC O’Shaughnessy International Equity Fund. The new fund uses the consistent approach to stock selection developed by Bear Stearns investment manager and author Jim O’Shaughnessy.
“The RBC O’Shaughnessy International Equity Fund presents an ideal opportunity for long-term investors to take advantage of a winning strategy while giving them exposure to markets outside North America,” said Brenda Vince, president RBC Asset Management. “O’Shaughnessy’s disciplined methodology has delivered excellent results for both Canadian and U.S. investors, and we are pleased to introduce this consistent, time-tested approach for international investing.”
Considered a leading expert and pioneer in quantitative stock market analysis, O’Shaughnessy is senior managing director at Bear Stearns Asset Management Inc. in New York. He is also a highly acclaimed author of three best selling books, including “What Works On Wall Street,” which outlines his research and strategies for investing.
The new fund, which has a management fee of 1.85% , will focus on holding up to 100 stocks — roughly 50 value stocks and 50 growth stocks — that meet O’Shaughnessy’s pre-determined criteria. The fund will be rebalanced annually.
The fund becomes the fourth in the RBC O’Shaughnessy series, joining RBC O’Shaughnessy Canadian Equity Fund, RBC O’Shaughnessy U.S. Growth Fund and RBC O’Shaughnessy U.S. Value Fund.
O’Shaughnessy’s investment approach is available to investors in Canada exclusively through investment products offered by RBC Asset Management.
