Western Financial has purchased certain assets of Robinson Agencies (1980) Ltd. of Taber, Alberta and plans to combine the new business with its existing South Country Agencies.
For more than 60 years, Robinson Agencies provided insurance products and services to its clients in the Taber area. Established by George Savage prior to World War II, the business was purchased by Jack Robinson in 1966 and then by Guy and Jane Passey in 1982.
“This is definitely a win-win situation,” said Scott Tannas, President and CEO of Western Financial Group, in a news release. “Robinson Agencies for many years has been a respected competitor of ours. We are pleased to add their strong customer base and their excellent staff to our Taber operation.”
Customers and employees of Robinson’s Agencies will all move to South Country Agencies. “It will be a seamless transition for our clients,” said Guy Passey. “They will deal with the same great staff and receive the same great service in addition to enjoying all the benefits that a larger network can provide.”
In a separate transaction, Western Financial Group acquired Fabian Insurance Services Ltd. of Tilley, Alberta, an agency primarily involved in farm insurance. Fabian will be merged with Western Financial Group’s WKB/Newell Agencies in Brooks, Alberta.
Western Financial Group provides customers across Western Canada with insurance, investments and banking services through its WFG Agency Network, Bank West and the Western Mutual Fund Company.
