Transamerica Life Canada, in conjunction with leading MGAs Tuesday launched Convergis, a business development program for life insurance advisors.

Convergis is a comprehensive program that encompasses business coaching, personal and professional development, marketing tools and community development along with a compensation structure that encourages business growth.

Advisors who qualify for the program will be connected to a wealth of marketing, business development and product resources and training as well as a community of advisors through dedicated portals.

The community aspect is an important part of this full program. “Convergis is ideal for advisors who are sole‐proprietors and may not have a network of business supports,” says Doug Brooks, president and CEO, Transamerica Life Canada.

“On the surface, Convergis advisors may look like competition to each other but that’s not actually the case. The market that Convergis advisors serve is vast and still has much untapped potential. Sharing experiences – both good and bad – benefits the entire community along with individual advisors.” He adds, “We regard Convergis as a program that benefits the industry as a whole.”

Transamerica, together with its MGA partners, created Convergis because it recognized a gap in the market for helping advisors develop their businesses. They also made a commitment to build Convergis in partnership with one another to ensure that the program will be mutually beneficial to all parties.

“The MGAs we’ve been working with have told us that they value being part of this process,” says Ray McKenzie, SVP, sales and distribution. “Their commitment to the success of Convergis shows that this model is good for everyone. The positive feedback from advisors who’ve had a preview is an indicator of this.”
