(August 9 – 12:?? ET) – TD Waterhouse Investor Services Inc. says it will open a new call centre in Ottawa early in 2001. This is the third call centre initiative announced in the last four months.
“Dramatically expanding our call centre infrastructure will further our ability to provide quick, efficient and convenient access to today’s fast- paced securities markets,” says John See, vice chairman, TD Waterhouse Group, Inc.
The Ottawa call centre will boost TD Waterhouse’s total capacity by 28% and accommodate up to 250 investment representatives. TD Waterhouse recently opened a new call centre in Markham, Ont., and will open another facility in Edmonton this fall. Together, these moves will add 750 reps workstations and boost call centre capacity by 84% in total.
“Our new call centre will create many valuable jobs in Ottawa, including 150 new positions for the launch early next year,” says Mary Helen Morra, regional vice president, trading and service at TD Waterhouse. “We’re looking for educated, ambitious, client-focused people who would like to pursue a career in the securities industry. Bilingualism is a definite asset,” she adds.
