TD Waterhouse Group, Inc.
is reporting that online trades per
day exceeded 69,000 in the third
calendar quarter of 1999-more than
doubling the firm’s online trade
count during the same period last
year.
This represents a decrease of 4%
from the second calendar quarter,
which included trade figures for
the month of April, a record month
for trading volumes industry-wide.
In addition, the firm’s total
number of on-line accounts
currently exceeds 1.1 million,
up 13% from the end of the second
calendar quarter, and up from
500,000 in the third calendar quarter in 1998.
