(April 26 – 11:55 ET) – TD Waterhouse Group, Inc. is reporting total trades per day of 246,400 shares in the first calendar quarter of 2000. That is up 124% from the same period last year. Online trades represented 74% of the total, reflecting a year-over-year growth of 180%.
Total customer accounts grew 43% to 3.6 million, of which more than 48% are enabled to transact online. Assets in customer accounts grew 70% in the year to $172 billion at March 31, 2000, with assets in online accounts reaching $118 billion.
