(January 22 – 12:45 ET) – Rushmore Judge executive partner Michael Wolkensperg today presented Charles Baillie, chairman and CEO of TD Bank Financial Group with the “Leading Executive in the Canadian Financial Industry” Arjay Award.

The award resulted from a study entitled “A Portrait of Leadership in Canada’s Financial Services Industry” which captured the opinions of over 100 of Canada’s financial sector senior executives. The goal of the study is to determine which companies and individuals are viewed as pioneers and leaders in the Canadian financial industry. Each individual who participated in the study was interviewed in depth and asked to identify who they believed to be today’s financial services leader.

“Charlie Baillie has clearly demonstrated his strength as a visionary and has been recognized by his peers for his qualities as a leader in today’s economy,” says Wolkensperg. “That the selection was made by top industry executives makes it particularly noteworthy,” Wolkensperg adds.

The Rushmore Judge Group presented the award as a conclusion to the 2000 study and awards program. Rushmore Judge frequently studies industry sectors and this year for the first time added an awards component to the process.

In October 2000, TD accepted three Arjay Awards — Leader in Canadian Financial Services, Leader in Canadian Banking and Technology Leader in Canadian Financial Services — at an awards event which also honoured Manulife Financial, RBC Dominion Securities, Fidelity Investments and other financial services participants.

Founded in 1992, The Rushmore Judge Group is a Canadian and international human resources agency.
