(March 8 – 18:00 ET) – Sun Life Assurance Co. of Canada launched an enhanced and re-branded Web site today. The site incorporates a new Services for Plan Members section for employees who are members of company-sponsored group benefit and group retirement plans.

The site (www.sunlife.ca) combines a high level of convenience and access for plan members who have both retirement and benefit accounts with Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada, creating a single resource for all their financial planning needs.

“Sun Life Financial places the customer at the centre of its operations,” says Vicken Kazazian, vice president and e-business leader for Canada. “With the new Plan Member Services section of our Web site, customers have one-stop online access to group benefit and group retirement products and services and easy links to trading and deposit services.”

Using the Web site, members of group retirement plans have access to current account information and can monitor any changes to the balances of their savings accounts on a daily basis. The site gives members the ability to perform fund transfers, make RRSP contributions, print duplicate RRSP tax receipts, and view historical fund information — all online..

In addition to customized services, the Plan Member Services section of the Web site provides access to a host of state-of-the-art “e-tools” powered by seclonLogic inc.(“SECLON”), an internet and software solutions developer. Sun Life Financial acquired a 30 per cent common share interest in SECLON late last year. These tools are designed to help plan members with many aspects of their financial planning and include the ability to save information for use at a later date.
