(April 12 – 10:30 ET) – State Street Corp. is celebrating its tenth year in Canada. Today, to mark the anniversary, the firm is hosting festivities in Toronto and Montreal, featuring the 1999 Nobel Laureate in Economics, Dr. Robert Mundell.

Mundell won the prize for his work on exchange rates and monetary policy which paved the way for the introduction of the Euro. “We are delighted to have Robert Mundell with us to celebrate this significant milestone in our history of commitment to Canadian institutional investors,” says David Spina, president and chief operating officer of State Street.

State Street is one of the world’s biggest providers of services to institutional investors. State Street Canada operates offices in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. It provides asset servicing for almost 25% of all Canadian mutual funds, four of the top five Canadian public pension plans and nine of the top 10 Canadian institutional investors.

“In the past five years alone, our institutional client base has more than doubled. This growth is a direct result of the value our employees have created for our clients,” says David Toyne, State Street senior vice president.
