(September 19 – 11:00 ET) – Toronto’s Sprott Securities is among the latest group of firms to join the Securities Industry Association in the U.S.

The SIA’s latest board meeting resulted in the approval of 10 new firms to the U.S. trade association for the securities industry. Among those admitted are Sprott Securities (USA) Ltd. and the prominent electronic communications network REDIBook ECN LLP.

REDIBook is part owned by TD Waterhouse, along with a handful of other prominent Wall Street firms, including Spear, Leeds & Kellogg, Fidelity Investments, Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, The Charles Schwab Corporation, Lehman Brothers, Credit Suisse First Boston, Bank of America, Fleet Securities, and National Discount Brokers.

Toronto-based Sprott has offices in Vancouver, Montreal and Calgary. It was founded in 1981 and is also a member of the Investment Dealers Association in Canada, and the stock exchanges.
