(July 17 – 09:50 ET) – The 2000 Securities Industry Association retail management conference will be held at Washington’s Hyatt Regency on September 21 and 22.

The focus will be on innovative investor service for newly-created millionaires, increased client demand for full service retail accounts, and the growing volume of investment information available over the Internet.

Presenters will include John “Launny” Steffens, vice chairman of the board and chairman of the U.S. Private Client Group Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc., and Ralph Acampora, managing director Global Equity Research Prudential Securities Inc.

Franchella will moderate a panel on serving affluent clients. Chuck Martin, chairman and CEO of the Net Future Institute, will discuss the Internet’s impact on traditional client bases. Paul Gigot, Washington columnist for The Wall Street Journal, will be the keynote lunch speaker. Prominent spin doctors Mary Matalin and James Carville will also appear.
