(January 15 – 10:25 ET) – Charles Schwab Canada, Co. and Bell Mobility have teamed up to offer new clients a complimentary cellphone when they open an investment account with Schwab Canada between January 15 and March 31.
New Schwab customers will qualify to receive a Motorola web-enabled cellular phone upon opening an account with a minimum balance of $20,000 or more. The offer is available to investors across Canada, with a limit of one phone per customer.
Schwab Canada was the first to offer wireless trading in Canada in April of 1999. The wireless service, known as PocketBroker, includes access to real-time quotes, equity trading, news, alerts, and index information. Investors can also reach a Schwab customer service representative quickly and efficiently with a one-touch call button integrated into the application.
Schwab Canada will promote the free web phones with a dedicated print, radio and online advertising campaign that kicks off on January 15.
“Our clients consistently tell us they want greater access to information and the ability to utilize it to manage their financial affairs as conveniently and as efficiently as possible,” said Paul Bates, CEO with Charles Schwab Canada. “By partnering with Bell Mobility to offer this incentive, we help our clients to gain an ever greater edge and degree of control over their finances and investing activities.”
