Resolution Capital Inc. has asked the Superior Court of the Province of Quebec for an injunction and for declaratory relief from accusations made by the Investment Dealers Association of Canada.

The company says the IDA’s accusations are unfounded. Resolution Capital is contesting the facts as presented, the methods used by the IDA and the rules, policies and by-laws, which the association is using to support its accusations.

The firm says the IDA is acting the roles of both prosecutor and judge.

Resolution Capital is also contesting the legality of the IDA by-laws, which prevent the firm from suing the IDA and allowing the IDA to take procedures against former members up to five years after leaving the association.
