(October 31 – 16:25) – RBC Dominion Securities today announced that Jean Pierre Ouellet, will join the firm in December as vice chairman. Ouellet will act as head of operations in Quebec, responsible for corporate and investment banking activities and will assume senior responsibilities for several of the firm’s important clients.

Ouellet, a Rhodes Scholar, is former head of law firm Stikeman Elliot’s corporate and commercial practice in Canada and member of its executive committee. He is currently senior vice president, legal affairs for Canadian National.

RBC DS also noted that Jean Beland, managing director, Global Banking, will retire effective December 31. Beland joined Royal Bank in 1968 and was named vice president in 1982, with his expertise focused on corporate banking activities in Quebec. More recently, with his partners, Beland was instrumental in the integration of the corporate and investment bank in Montreal.
