(March 6 – 14:45 ET) – PWC plans to apply for a continuance to operate as a bank. Subject to regulatory, and shareholder approval, PWC also plans to change its name to EBANK OF CANADA.
In furthering this business initiative, PWC has applied for trademarks for its proposed name as well as for EBANKOFCANADA.COM. In addition, PWC has secured the domain names ebankofcanada.com and ebankcanada.com.
PWC’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Pacific & Western Trust Corporation, is in the final stage of launching its ebanking website. This site utilizes ebanking technology that PWT has developed in-house and will enable PWT to expand the range of deposit products available to its existing and future customers. PWT has secured the domain names pwtrust.com, etrustofcanada.com and etrustcanada.com.
