The Toronto-Dominion Bank of Canada and the Public Policy Forum (PPF) have launched a three-year initiative to push for policy dialogue on the changing nature of the Canadian workforce, the organizations announced on Tuesday.

Considering the climate in which new jobs are consistently emerging and others are becoming automated or obsolete, the PPF will conduct research and engage with policy networks to explore how Canadians can adapt and thrive in an evolving workplace.

“We are eager for the opportunity to work with a wide range of partners in figuring out how Canadians can ride the train of technological change without having the dignity they derive from work derailed in the process,” says Edward Greenspon, president and CEO of PPF, in a statement.

“These are complex issues with huge consequences,” he adds. “We need to get them right.”
