PlanPlus Inc. will be providing the student version of its PlanPlus Web Advisor financial planning software to students enrolled for the Certified Financial PlannerCM (CFP) course at a school in Malaysia, the company announced today.

The program, PlanPlus for Students, will be available at KDU Management Development Centre Sdn. Bhd. (KMDC), an education provider of the CFP programme in Malaysia, starting later this year.

“The use of PlanPlus for Students will provide our students tools to allow them to complete exercises, and more importantly gain practical experience on how to develop complete financial plans using a comprehensive planning software”, said Ng Boon How, programmes manager at KMDC.

The software will be made available to students enrolled for all six educational modules of the CFP programme. According to PlanPlus, more than 400 students will begin using the web-based software this year.

As well, PlanPlus said it is sponsoring two academic achievement awards for the top CFP students at KMDC.

“PlanPlus has been working with professional financial planners in Malaysia for several years now and since the software is already localized for several countries in the Asia-Pacific region, we decided we should make the same student software that has been used in Canada for over a decade available in Malaysia,” said Shawn Brayman, president of PlanPlus. “The industry is evolving fast with new pressures from the regulators and we feel this will add significant value to the educational process.”

PlanPlus Inc. is Lindsay, Ont.-based firm that provides wealth management and financial planning software to banks, investment firms, insurance companies, credit unions, and mutual fund and financial planning firms.
