Shawn Brayman, president and CEO of Lindsay, Ont.-based PlanPlus, Inc. is one of five new members elected to the board of directors of The Financial Planning Association, based in Denver.

PlanPlus Inc. develops software tools and training for use by financial institutions, professional advisors and investors to perform personal financial and investment planning,

Each new FPA board member will serve a three-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2014.

The FPA is the principal professional organization for certified financial planner (CFP) professionals, educators, financial services professionals and students in the United States.

In addition to Brayman, the new board members include:

> Michelle Carney, of L. Paul Kassouf & Co., P.C. in Birmingham, Ala.;
> Frank Pare, of PF Wealth Management Group in Oakland, Cali.
> Dan Skiles, of Shareholders Service Group in San Diego; and
> Evelyn Zohlen, of Inspired Wealth in Huntington Beach, Cali.

The 2014 Board will be comprised of 15 total members, which includes the five newly elected members and FPA Executive Director/CEO Lauren M. Schadle.
