Newport Beach, Calif.-based asset management giant Pacific Investment Management Company, LLC, (PIMCO) has created a star-studded global advisory board, featuring the former heads of the U.S. Federal Reserve Board and the European Central Bank (ECB), along with a former British prime minister.
PIMCO announced on Monday the creation of a five-person global advisory group to provide the firm with their insights on global economic, political, and strategic events and their possible implications for financial markets.
The board will be headed by Ben Bernanke, former Fed chairman. He will be joined by Gordon Brown, former British prime minister and chancellor of the exchequer, Jean-Claude Trichet, the former head of the ECB, Ng Kok Song, who served as chief investment officer for Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, the Government of Singapore Investment Corp. (GIC); and Anne-Marie Slaughter, the president and CEO of think tank, New America.
“The global advisory board is an unrivalled team of macroeconomic thinkers and former policymakers, whose insights into the intersection of policy and financial markets will be a valuable input to our investment process,” says Dan Ivascyn, PIMCO’s group chief investment officer, in a statement.
