New Scotiabank subsidiary specializes in e-commerce security

The initial focus of e-Scotia.com is to offer e-commerce products and
services to companies to secure their business on the Internet. Entrust Technologies will be supplying e-Scotia.com with Public Key Infrastructure
(PKI) technology–the most advanced form of Internet security available in the
marketplace today.

Scotiabank currently manages over one hundred thousand digital
certificates–the electronic passports used to uniquely identify people and
resources over the Internet. These certificates enable more than half a
million banking and investment transactions to take place each month securely
online.
