National Bank of Canada was honoured for the quality of its new website at an E-business gala held by the Quebec Ministere de la Culture et des Communications.

The company was awarded with the first prize in the Portal Category for showing creativity, knowledge and vision with respect to delivering business objectives in a virtual environment.

“A lot of effort went into revamping our informational and transactional website, and we’re very proud that our work has been recognized by the industry,” said Michel Lozeau, senior
vice president, E-commerce at the National Bank. “Internet users will appreciate our new streamlined style that makes navigating the site much faster and more efficient. All the products and services of the Bank and its subsidiaries are now centralized at www.nbc.ca. Receiving this prize from an independent jury is a sure sign of our new portal’s success,” Mr. Lozeau added.

The 3rd edition of the Gala des affaires electroniques, organized by InterDoc Corporation, was held on November 7. The purpose of the event is to honour companies that have shown outstanding creativity, knowledge and vision in their use of E-business technologies. Thirty-two companies competed in 11 different
categories, including four in the Portal category.
