(December 6 – 09:40 ET) – Today is “Miracle Day” at CIBC World Markets.
Each year on the first Wednesday in December, CIBC World Markets and CIBC Wood Gundy financial consultants, sales and trading staff around the world, donate their fees and commissions to children’s charities. All CIBC World Markets and CIBC Wood Gundy offices across Canada are part of the fund raising event, as are offices in Asia, Australia, Europe and the United States.
Since it started in 1984, the CIBC World Markets Children’s Miracle Day has raised more than $46 million for children’s charities. The 1999 Miracle Day raised over $12 million.
In Canada, the Miracle Day funds are donated to more than 250 children’s charities in communities across Canada — from Victoria to St. John’s. CIBC says Miracle Day is Canada’s largest one-day corporate fundraising event devoted to children’s charities.
