(January 19 – 10:45 ET) – Manulife Bank of Canada is offering a new high-interest-rate
cash account for RRSP investors. The Registered Advantage Account currently offers variable annual interest of 4.5% to clients with a total account balance of $5,000 or more.

The account is available through any of Manulife’s 6,000 financial advisors in Canada. “This is a tremendous tool for Canadians looking for better returns and greater flexibility to hold cash in their RRSPs,” says Trevor Matthews, executive vice president Canadian operations.

“If they’re unsure about where they want to invest in the long-term, they can still get a competitive return on their cash.” In mid-1999, Manulife Bank launched a high-interest Advantage Account for non-registered cash deposits.
