(May 23 – 11:35 ET)- Manulife Bank of Canada is launching its telephone and Internet banking services. At the same time, it is boosting the rate for its chequing account to 5.25%.
“Having a bank account that pays 5.25% interest on balances of $5,000 or greater and offering online banking capabilities is key to servicing our unique client base,” said Trevor Matthews, executive vice president, Canadian operations.
Manulife Bank clients can use the telephone or Internet to obtain account balances, statements and current interest rates. They will also be able to make bill payments or transfers between accounts over the telephone and through the Internet later this summer.
The telephone and Internet banking services are primarily for Manulife Bank’s high-interest chequing/savings Advantage Account.
