(June 1 – 15:35 ET) – Lazard Brothers & Co. Ltd., the London, England-based investment banking group, has hired four new managing directors, including one to oversee its Canadian operations.

According to the Financial Times, Lazard has plucked Jacques Drouin from London-based rival Schroders Group to the position of managing director. He will oversee Lazard’s cross-border Canadian operations from London. Drouin is joined by Daniel Labrecque, from Schroders’ Canadian arm, who will operate out of Montreal. Labrecque is also on the board of the C.D. Howe Institute.

Lazard has plucked two other executives from Schroders, one to run its debt advisory team in London, and another specializing in financial institutions in Spain and continental Europe.

It has also raided ING Barings for a managing director in corporate finance. And it is beefing up its global defence industry expertise with a hire from Antares Advisors, an advisory boutique.
