Laurentian Bank of Canada received an Award of Excellence for the best technological solution in the Large Enterprises category at the annual banquet of the Canadian Information Productivity Awards yesterday. It is the largest business awards program in Canada in the field of information management. The bank accepted the award for its B2B Trust technology development project.
The multi-media event celebrating the Canada-wide contest drew a black-tie audience of more than 1,500 business executives. Laurentian Bank’s project presented to selection committee members represented a formidable challenge: to compete with other Canadian banks by becoming a private brand wholesaler of banking applications for non-banking partners. The solution that was adopted involved the peripheral isolation of existing technological infrastructures through the use of Internet technologies to take advantage of the development and stability of legacy systems.
“Thanks to our solution, we can maximize the potential of our array of applications by providing an environment designed to serve numerous partners,” declared Mr. Henri-Paul Rousseau, president and CEO.
