(April 28 – 12:25ET) – Investors Group Inc. has announced net income of $54.5 million for the first quarter ended March 31, 2000, an increase of 20.3% from the same period in
1999. Earnings per share were 25.9¢, compared to last year’s 21.5¢. Gross revenues for the quarter were up 12.7% to $278.6 million.
“Investors Group enjoyed another strong first quarter, largely due to strong sales activity during the RRSP season,” said H. Sanford Riley, president and CEO. “The encouraging sign is that despite uncertainty in the financial markets, sales of mutual funds and other investment products continue to move at a very active pace.”
