Just in time for the holidays, Investor Education Fund (IEF) has launched the ninth installment in its Cranial Cash Clash Game.

“Gift Thrift” is a year-round giving guide to maximizing every dollar spent on gifts, and it’s just one of several seasonal online resources the IEF offers Canadians this season at www.GetSmarterAboutMoney.ca.

These resources are designed to help Canadians with the top tips to avoid a holiday debt hangover, benefit from gift cards and turn a “naughty” wallet into a “nice” savings account, the IEF says.

The Cranial Cash Clash is an extensive online and mobile game released for Apple iOS, Google Android and available on the IEF website to help Canadians assess how much they need to learn about money.

Nearly 23,000 games lasting an average of 5:21 minutes each have been played since January, according to the IEF.

Other holiday season resources of the IEF website include:

  • the holiday debt hangover quiz;
  • 10 tips to keep holiday spending on track;
  • RESPs, a holiday gift that keeps giving; and
  • top 10 new year’s financial resolutions.
