IFSE Institute, the educational arm of the Investment Funds Institute of Canada (IFIC), on Wednesday announced the launch of Career Pathways, an interactive tool to help industry professionals explore various job roles in financial services.

“The financial services sector in Canada continues to grow and offer outstanding job opportunities,” says Christina Ashmore, managing director of IFSE Institute, in a statement. “Our goal is to provide our students with valuable tools and resources, whether they’re just starting out or looking to advance in their careers.”

The Career Pathways platform has four categories, which include: starting your career, advice channel, operations/back office, and compliance. Users can explore potential careers including information such as job descriptions, lists of key skills or attributes, estimated salary ranges and recommended courses.

IFSE has also created videos to highlight some of the most popular careers in the industry, such as a mutual fund advisor, client services representative or insurance agent.

“The financial services sector plays a vital role in the financial well-being of Canadians and to the economy as a whole,” adds Ashmore. “We encourage new entrants to explore career opportunities in this dynamic, diverse and robust industry.”
