(April 25 – 15:25 ET) – The Investment Dealers Association is going to make margin debt information available to the public beginning with next month’s report.
The IDA says that since public interest in the amount of margin debt has increased, with some investors factoring into their trading decisions.
Firms must now report their margin account debts, other unsecured debits and shorts in their monthly reports. This data will be aggregated and released. The new policy comes into effect on April 30 for reports due on May 29.
