(Septe mber 8 – 12:00 ET) – The Pacific District Council of the
Investment Dealers Association of Canada has imposed discipline
penalties on Amiruddin Gillani. At the time of the offence Gilliani
was a registered representative employed by RBC Dominion Securities
Inc.
at its Vancouver, West Vancouver and North Vancouver branch
offices.

On August 17, 1999, the District Council accepted a settlement
agreement signed by Mr. Gillani as a result of negotiations with the
staff of the Association’s Enforcement Division.

Pursuant to the settlement agreement, Mr. Gillani admits he engaged
in a business conduct unbecoming and detrimental to the public interest.
He misrepresented his education in the uniform application for
registration and thereafter issued an untrue advertisement to the
public.

Gillani willl pay a fine of $12,500.00. He must re-write and pass
the examination based on the Conduct and Practices Handbook. He
is subject to a period of close supervision by his employer for a
period of 6 months. In addition, Gillani agreed to pay the amount of
$1,750.00 towards costs of investigation.

When it learned of these misrepresentations in April, 1998, RBC
Dominion Securities Inc. dismissed Mr. Gillani. Mr. Gillani co-operated
with the Association throughout its investigation of this matter.

Mr. Gillani is currently employed by TD Securities Inc., a Member of
the Association, as a Registered Representative and Registered Options
Representative, in Vancouver, B.C.
