The Investment Dealers Association is updating licensing requirements for reps that were previously registered in Hong Kong.

The IDA’s Education and Proficiency Committee has approved the new version of the Hong Kong Securities Institute’s program: The Licensing Examination for Securities and Futures Intermediaries, as equivalent to the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and the Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH) Exam.

Applicants who provide proof of passing Papers 1, 7 and 8 of the HKSI’s licensing exam (Paper 1 Fundamentals of Securities and Futures Regulation, Paper 7 Financial Markets and Paper 8 Securities) need only pass the Canadian Securities Institute’s New Entrants Course to be exempted from writing the CSC and CPH.
