Hub International Ltd., an international insurance brokerage, announced the appointment of Craig Barton as its president, Canadian Operations.

Barton also serves as President of Barton Insurance Brokers Ltd., Hub International’s largest Canadian subsidiary. In his new role Barton will oversee the coordination of collective initiatives undertaken by Hub International’s Canadian brokerages, act as liaison with Hub’s executive management and investigate cross-border opportunities with his U.S. counterpart, Bruce Guthart, Hub’s President, U.S. Operations.

In announcing the appointment, Martin Hughes, chairman and CEO of Hub International Ltd., stated, “Our Canadian brokerages are an integral component of our operations. The leadership qualities that Craig Barton has demonstrated in managing the growth of Barton Insurance to allow it to attain its current stature as one of Canada’s leading middle-market insurance brokers make Craig the ideal appointment for this position. Craig’s business insight and acumen will be invaluable to our Canadian brokerages as they develop and execute strategies to grow our business and maximize the opportunities presented in the existing market.”
