Goldman Sachs & Co. has been ranked the top IPO underwriter of 2001 by Global Securities Information Inc
Goldman Sachs & Co’s 14 IPOs totalled almost US$12 billion, enough to top Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, whose 9 IPOs totalled over US$10 billion.
Credit Suisse First Boston came in third, followed by Merrill Lynch & Co, and UBS Warburg LLC.
CIBC Oppenheimer was the top-ranked Canadian firm at number 15. RBC’s subsidiary, Dain Rauscher Wessels, checked in at number 21. No other Canadian firms cracked the top 25.
The set of transactions consists of all deals registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission that are completed in the year, based on the amount estimated in the filing. All deals that have been registered with the SEC have been included, including international transactions. Only the lead advisor is credited.
