Over 700 guests from Canada’s top financial, legal and accounting firms joined physicians, nurses and staff from St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Toronto for the third annual Summer Solstice White Party.
Donned in their summer whites, guests enjoyed an evening of music and cocktails in support of the St. Joseph’s Health Centre’s Just for Kids Clinic, helping to raise more than $225,000 for the hospital-based clinic’s expansion.
“We’re so pleased with the level of support we’ve received from friends, family, and generous peers in the industry — it’s a real testament to their commitment of ensuring that west-end children get the access to the quality urgent care they need, close to home” says Gary Selke, president and CEO, Front Street Capital. “We’re proud of the role our company and foundation has played in helping St. Joe’s meet its goal of expanding the Just for Kids Clinic.”
Selke has a special connection with the Just for Kids Clinic, as its staff helped saved his daughter’s life on Christmas Day, 1993. Twenty years later, he continues to show his support for the clinic by volunteering for the St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation Board of Directors, and is also matching all individual donations to the Just for Kids Clinic, up to $250,000.

The clinic, which has more than 11,000 visits from parents with children each year, is hoping to increase the number of children it cares for from 11,000 to 17,000, annually.
