(May 12 – 09:15 ET) – After a brief dalliance with the clunky “World Markets” moniker, CIBC’s full-service brokerage formally will be known as CIBC Wood Gundy.

Although some brokers, primarily in the Toronto area, adopted the name of its parent CIBC World Markets, most of the country stuck with Wood Gundy.

On Monday the firm officially becomes CIBC Wood Gundy, bringing a new logo and name to its publications and client statements.

“Our name may be changing but our commitment to clients remains unchanged,” says Tom Monahan, head of CIBC Wood Gundy. “Clients can expect to receive the same professional advice and service they have come to appreciate and CIBC Wood Gundy will continue to offer innovative investment products and services to help them meet their financial objectives.”
