The Pacific District Council of the Investment Dealers Association of Canada has imposed penalties on Douglas Robb, at the relevant times a registered representative of ScotiaMcLeod Inc., Nesbitt Burns Inc., and Midland Walwyn Capital Inc.
The IDA found that Robb had failed to attend and give information in respect of investigations being conducted by the IDA’s enforcement department. The department began investigations into six client complaints and notified Robb of each investigation. Robb was required to attend and give information relating to the matters under investigation on four occasions, but failed to do so.
The District Council has permanently prohibited Robb from re-approval by the IDA in any registered capacity, and imposed a fine of $50,000. In addition, the District Council assessed $9,329 against Robb toward investigation costs.
