The Alberta District Council of the Investment Dealers Association of Canada has imposed discipline penalties on Christine Sklar, a former registered rep with Richardson Greenshields of Canada Ltd.
The council found that Sklar engaged in conduct unbecoming of a registered representative, contrary to IDA by-laws. Sklar forged a client’s signature to replace a previously signed but misplaced account agreement.
Sklar left the industry on Oct. 27, 1998 and has not been registered in any capacity with the Association since that date. She has no previous history of regulatory violations.
Sklar was fined $2,500, and must successfully rewrite the Conduct and Practices Handbook examination should she to regain her registration. Sklar must also pay $1,000 towards costs of investigation in the amount of $1,000.
