Waterloo, Ont.-based Equitable Life of Canada launched a new tool on Tuesday giving clients online access to their investment and insurance policy information.

While online client access to investment holdings is pretty standard, says Karl Simon, director, individual marketing, sales and distribution, Equitable Life of Canada, the same cannot be said for insurance policies, making this new offering “fairly unique.”

Once registered, clients in the company’s individual insurance and savings and retirement channels can use the online tool, called Equitable Client Access, to find out all kinds of details such as: current market value of investments; guaranteed interest account (GIA) maturity dates and values; the next payment date for payout annuities as well as annual income and payment guarantee details; total death benefit and designated beneficiaries for life and critical illness insurance.

The online tool also provides users with a secure inbox for statement copies and other correspondence.

Equitable Life of Canada is a mutual life insurance company offering a selection of individual life and health, savings and retirement and group benefits products through managing general agencies (MGA) and advisors.
