(July 11 – 15:00 ET) – RBC Dominion Securities announced today that it has hired David Bank, a telecom equity research analyst. Bank specializes in integrated communications providers, competitive local exchange carriers, and digital subscriber line providers.

Bank previously covered emerging telecom companies for ING Barings.

His hiring is part of an ongoing expansion by DS to bolster its U.S. investment banking capabilities in the technology, telecom and energy sectors. Additional key hires are expected the weeks ahead.

“One of the hallmarks of RBC Dominion Securities is its top-tier equity research, and the hiring of David Bank is consistent with that focus,” said James McLeod, who oversees research at RBC Dominion Securities.

Bank, who holds the title vice president, joined ING Barings in 1994 as an investment banking associate focusing on financial institutions and media. In 1997, he initiated coverage on the high yield securities of 25 domestic and international companies focusing primarily on competitive local exchange carriers and media-broadcasting names. In 1999, he was promoted to director, equity research.

Bank holds an undergraduate degree from Williams College and both an M.A. and Masters in Public and Private Management from the Yale School of Management.
