The retreat of U.S. securities firms from Canada continues with the news that DLJ Canada Inc. is decamping.

The Investment Dealers Association reports that it has been informed that DLJ Canada Inc. intends to resign its membership in the IDA. It says that the resignation process has been initiated and the effective date of resignation will be announced once it is known.

This move follows Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc.’s substantial retreat from Canada by selling off its retail business to CIBC. And, CSFB dropping plans to develop a high net worth retail business in Canada.
