(May 26 – 15:30 ET) – CurrencyNetwork, the world’s first portal for the global foreign
exchange market, went fully online yesterday.

The service offers anyone with an interest in foreign exchange, from dealers and brokers to private speculators or corporate treasurers, an independent and highly interactive news and information service. The address of the Web site is http://www.currencynetwork.com.

CurrencyNetwork has hired leading figures from the established currency information market to produce premier proprietary information. It will provide institutions with leading-edge analysis and news from its own news services, including CNAudio and CNTV, incorporating daily and weekly market briefings and interviews to be licensed and syndicated.

“CurrencyNetwork will be the premier internet site for the global FX community,” says Michael Hecht, founder and chief executive. “Apart from the online services offered by individual banks there are no independent sites to turn to. We will offer a fresh alternative with up-to-the-minute news, analysis and commentary.”

The vast global FX business, with a daily turnover approximately ten times the size of equity markets, has lacked a single credible news source. CurrencyNetwork hope to fill the breach.
