Credit Suisse has largely completed the expansion of the institutional distribution team within its asset management division, the Swiss bank said Wednesday.

The firm said that it has added 18 people to the unit, including nine managing directors.

In Toronto, Dave McCann, is appointed managing director covering Canadian institutional clients. McCann joined the firm from the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, where he headed their relationship investments effort.

“In these markets, more than ever, clients are seeking holistic ideas and solutions from experienced professionals. We have a terrific opportunity to build on the Credit Suisse platform, providing global, strategic investment products and solutions,” said Mark Bourgeois, managing director and head of distribution for asset management, in a release.

Bourgeois joined Credit Suisse in September 2008 from Lehman Brothers, where he was co-head of global distribution and head of alternatives distribution.
