(January 10 – 12:10 ET) – CGI Group Inc. and Star Data Systems Inc. report that CGI’s offer, dated December 11, 2000. to purchase all of the outstanding Star Data common shares has been successful.

CGI offered 0.737 Class A Subordinate Share of CGI for each Star Data common share. CGI will take up and pay for the 14,687,158 Star Data common shares tendered to date. This represents about 81% of the outstanding Star Data common shares on a fully-diluted basis.

CGI also announced that its offer has been extended to 22:00 ET on January 22. A notice of extension will be mailed shortly to shareholders of Star Data and filed with securities regulators.

Star Data provides information services and wealth management solutions to the financial services industry.
