Stéphane Blanchette, executive vice president, chief compliance officer and chief financial officer of Quebec City-based Investia Financial Services, has been re-elected chairman of board of governors of the Conseil des fonds d’investissement du Québec (CFIQ), the organization announced Wednesday.

CFIQ is the Quebec voice of The Investment Funds Institute of Canada (IFIC).

“I am honored to be re-elected as chair for a third consecutive year to help lead CFIQ’s ongoing efforts to be a positive force in the financial services industry,” says Blanchette, in a statement. “The board intends to continue its work supporting CFIQ’s efforts to collaborate effectively with regulators on the ongoing major consultations that impact the industry and its investors.”

The 2018-2019 board of governors, which was elected by CFIQ members last month, has also elected Montreal-based Johanne Blanchard, vice president and legal counsel, Investors Group Financial Services, as its second vice chairwoman.

Paul Bourque, president and CEO, IFIC, remains on the board as ex-officio first vice chairman.

Marc Doré, president and COO of Montreal-based Peak Financial Group, is a new governor.

All appointments take effect on Sept. 1.
