Canaccord Capital Corp.has named its corporate head office building in downtown Vancouver The Canaccord Tower.
The 24-storey office tower, formerly known as The Stock Exchange Tower, now displays the Canaccord name. Canaccord moved into what was then called The Vancouver Stock Exchange Tower in 1981 as one of the building’s first tenants. At that time, it had approximately 160 employees on two floors. Today, Canaccord’s head office takes up nine floors and is home to 500 employees, approximately 40% of the firm’s total staff.
“I am extremely proud to see the Canaccord name on our head office building,” said Peter Brown, chairman and CEO of Canaccord Capital. “It is not only a visible symbol of our strong commitment to the province of British Columbia, but also a credit to our outstanding team of employees whose dedication, vision and efforts have made Canaccord Capital the biggest independent investment firm in the country and a firm that is still very much in a growth mode.”
