BMO Financial Group today released its corporate responsibility report and public accountability statement. Entitled “Every Day,” the report details the organization’s support of the communities it serves, the bank said in a release.

“This report sums up our collective efforts to do what’s right for all of our stakeholders each and every day,” said Tony Comper, BMO’s president and CEO.

BMO was named Canada’s Best Corporate Citizen for 2005 by Corporate Knights, the Canadian corporate responsibility magazine.

The bank supports a range of programs related to education, health, arts and culture, community development, sports and athletics and the environment, it said. In 2005, it contributed $29.5 million in corporate donations, sponsorships and events, supporting communities, charities and not-for-profit organizations across Canada.

The report is available online. Copies will be available in March in all BMO Bank of Montreal branches.
