(March 6 – 11:30 ET) – BMO Nesbitt Burns has hired Ray Sharma as a managing director and analyst in its Technology Group, and James Wise as a vice president in its Equity Derivatives Group. Both men will be based in Toronto.

Sharma will cover wireless technology. Previously, he was with Credit Suisse First Boston’s technology group in San Francisco, where he covered wireless technology, focusing on devices and applications. Prior to that, Sharma was at Credit Suisse First Boston Canada, where he was the number two ranked technology hardware analyst in the Brendan Wood International 2000 Survey. He earned an honours degree in business administration from the University of Western Ontario.

Wise will co-manage BMO Nesbitt Burns’ North American convertible securities portfolio. Wise comes from New York, where he worked for Salomon Smith Barney and Citibank, managing the Canadian OTC derivatives book. Wise earned his honours degree in business administration from the University of Western Ontario.
